WHO IS ROD WEBER THE ACTOR?

 

Rod is an outstanding actor who was born on a farm near Norfolk in Northeastern Nebraska, Johnnie Carson’s hometown.  A lot of talent has come out of that little town.  He has lived in Nebraska (including the farm), Tokyo, the Caribbean (Cruise ships for 18 months), New York City, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He also lived in Zurich, Switzerland for a year when he played Rum-Tum-Tugger in Cats.

 

Rod has performed live theatre on Broadway, in Las Vegas (Starlight Express), with several U.S. and international touring companies, and local venues.  He is an outstanding singer who has recorded with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  Rod has also been seen in various TV productions and has recently been extremely successful in his film making endeavors.  There are many excellent professional performers today, but this handsome, talented, dedicated, kind, and determined guy is one of the best.

Theatre and Filmography

 

Rod is an accomplished actor, singer, and dancer with an outstanding professional career. You can currently see Rod in the Broadway production of Ring of Fire.  Prior to this he has just completed two and a half years with the U.S. national tour of Mamma Mia! He has played a variety of challenging roles in local theatre (Meet Me in St. Louis and others), national tours (Mamma Mia!, The Full Monty and Starlight Express), on Broadway (Civil War, Jekyll & Hyde, Saturday Night Fever), international tours (Cats), in television (Law & Order, General Hospital, Oz, and PBS Great Performances’ Evangeline) and film (Kate & Leopold, and several independent features and short films). No matter what role Rod is playing or what genre, he gives his audiences his very best professional work. He immerses himself into his characters and adapts each one to his own interpretation. Rod is a proud member of Actor’s Equity since 1990 and supports the highest standards of the performing arts profession.

Rod is also an accomplished singer and has recorded and toured with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. He can be heard on the soundtrack of Country Rules! and has recorded several radio jingles.

Recently, Rod has turned his attention and talent to film making. His collaborative efforts have resulted in a fantastic short film called The Day of the Grackle. This film is creative, fun, beautifully filmed and extraordinarily entertaining. It is already doing well at film festivals and will be entered in more during the year.
